OK, everyone's mad about what they did with the genders (or lack thereof) in Wish. But consider this--

Tokyopop is a professional company that has to worry about AUDIENCES. A lot of young (as in, under 15) people that pick up their books are very uneducated about standards in Japan. Hardcore fans aren't the only people who read manga. People who aren't even interested in the overall subject have picked them up. Having an 'it' would confuse the general audience, and turn them off from the series. And writing script for an "it" in English is INCREDIBLY difficult, if you've ever tried it (I have). Sacrifices have to be made sometimes. But really, Tokyopop did a damn fine job with Wish. XD They printed the books exactly as they were supposed to be, with the color pages and everything. The books even had jackets.

If Tokyopop had gotten X, and gotten it recently, chances are we WOULD get the tarot cards--they included the Sakura cards with the second Cardcaptor Sakura arc.

About that email, as you said, it was a genuine person. ONE person. One person does not represent the whole company on the matter of politeness. And who knows, that person could have had a real shitty day and just happened to take it out on you. You didn't say anything about your email's contents, or the contents of the reply's (besides saying it was really rude), for that matter, so it would really be unfair for anyone who read your post to judge that situation...

But Viz... well, Viz can go to hell.

BTW, Random House WILL be publishing manga--they have a deal with Kodansha.
