Thanks for the advise. His family are good people. His brother and his wife are both school teachers and have a young son. They are far from trashy -my issue with them is their loyalty and inability to handle the drug addict. My issue with them is: When I had my daughter, they stood by him by not having anything to do with my daughter as he didn't. Then, when he wanted to be a dad, they all jumped in and wanted to be in her life too. Then, the whole drug thing -we all rallied together to try to help him and do whatever we could together. Then, when I noticed he was using again, they didn't believe it so I was the 'bad guy' for keeping my daughter from him. Even though they knew he was actively using again, they continued to do as he asked and not have any contact with me or my daughter. So -you see, they are not trashy people, they just have not developed a real bond to my daughter and I am fearful that if push came to shove, they would take his side again and therefore abandon my daughter once again - thus confusing and hurting her once again.
