I am sorry but I totally disagree with this statement probably because I was a crack/cocaine and meth addict and 18 weeks clean and I feel I made a wise decision to end the insanity in my life....and insane it was. When I read other peoples posts on this site sometimes it really saddens me to hear people say give up, walk away, etc. etc. I know that everyones situation is very different but in alot of ways they are very much the same and I can't help but to think "what if my family came here and read some of that" would they have given up on me I would hope not. Shari please don't think I am coming down on just this statement there are many more on this site I disagree with too. Your posts lately have been so positive Your husband made a wise choice for himself to go and complete rehab while in prison and he also made a wise choice to seek God's help while in prison. And although he is far from being totally free from this drug YET... at least he, (with your help no doubt) made these wise choices for himself. And for you and your family I hope it all works out..You deserve it! In one of your posts you said that when you first came here everyone basically told you to throw in the towel and say forget it but you made a choice to stick it out...with God's help! I believe that an addict has to want to help themselves first and foremost and when an addict makes this decision is that not a wise one? With these addictions there is so many lies, manipulations, stealing etc. that ya people do give up on their loved ones - everyones situation is different....I however am here to give people that "RAY OF HOPE" to know that there is HOPE for their loved ones and to learn from others experiences on what hell I put family and friends through...for that I thank all of you because I HAVE LEARNED ALOT HERE. I am living proof that a meth user can make wise decisions for anyone and their self!
