Hi Heather,

During our initial hearing, that is how my attorney turned in my 5 pages of 'stuff'. As an 'attachment' to the filing papers. Actually, my 1st hearing was just me and my attorney, but he still had to read why the hell I was there, and my letter of info was attached to the filing stuff.

I remember my lawyer proofed mine and all of that, but there wasn't much she 'edited' at all. She did add the line at the bottom, to the effect of : "I hereby affirm that this information is true" or something like that, then I signed and dated it.

I am not sure how you did your letter, but may I suggest more of a bullet point thing, versus a "Dear Judge" letter? Know what I mean? Like if you have the judges name, maybe just put the date on it, Court of ______, Attn Honorable Judge _______" then a very brief intro followed by the bullet points. Then say about the above information being true and all of that and sign and date it. If anything can have dates, put the dates.

Make it clean and precise and as easy to read as possible, because when your case is called, he'll read it, but you want him to be able to read it easily and get the jest of the things you bring up.

WHen is your date? Good luck to you.
