Brian, I can sympathize with you because I have had a very similiar experience that left me absolutely terrified. I was trying to fall asleep and suddenly found myself paralyzed. The room became immersed in a sea of loud chaotic voices. These awful sounds were so loud they felt as if they were coming from inside my head. I experienced a horrible feeling of danger and dread, as if someone or something was threatening my very life. My bed was near a large window and I was convinced that the chaos I was experiencing was so real that I could even hear a police siren blaring inches from the window. The voices were the worst part, male and female and most of them were frantic and trying to make me take heed of their particular plight. This has happened to me twice in my life and I certainly hope it never happens again. I agree with the person who made the comment that you were tuning into the astral plane. I think it's a case of the mind and body falling asleep out of sync with each other
thus producing a kind of sensory horror where the mind is taking us somewhere we should only travel to when we are asleep(the astral plane) and at the same time, our body's senses are telling us we are wide awake. Don't worry, you are not mad. I know several people who have experienced this. Peace to you.
