Vevlet auds lay back as Letha cried out. A stab of guilt tore through Brechin, and he took a step towards her as she cowered before the Sun, ears now pressed forward. "Letha?" he said. Suddenly, instincts in his mind blaired. Something was wrong with this wolfess. Very wrong. Then her heard her voice, and it sent a chill down his wolven spine. Then he saw the flash of ivory teeth, and his instincts kicked in fully. No longer was he the calm, mostly gentle Varg, but a fierce beast. His velvety auds flattened back against his skull, and his fur bristled madly at the sudden attack. Reacting quickly, he pulled back and brought his jaw to meet Letha's attack, and he felt her teeth cut his maw. He blocked the attack, pushed away, and lept back, out of reach for the moment.
"Letha!" he snarled. "What's become of you? Stay this madness!" His teeth were bared, and he looked truly terrible. But he knew, as all Varg knew, that as a male, and a particuarly large one at that, he would be able to overpower the female in a fight, unless some Darker power aided her...
