In case anyone was interested, The Lake Elsinore Grand Prix is this coming weekend. They have moved the it back to racing through the town of Lake Elsinore using varios sections of the original race dating back some 41 years. The start and end of the race are now at the Storm stadium and the course is 7.2 miles long. The Heids, Tarters, and Dahlins will all be racing this event. This was a fun event in the past. Here is a link should anyone be interested.

He is being moved to Kaiser Downey for further treatment. Please pray for Sonny and Janet. It was such blessing to have so many trained people at his side while he waited for transport to the hospital. At one point, they asked him what his pain level was and he said zero. GOD his so good.

This year’s Motolympics is shaping up to be the best one yet. We have a NEW UTV (Rhino, RZR, Ranger) challenge course in the works, as well as a Sunday morning Poker Run. A very full day when you add in the rest of the activities like the circle track, balloon pop, slow race, slalom course, can slam, barrel race, kids race, adult challenge course, kids mach time and my personal favorite, POTLUCK DESSERT.
This year’s event will be a benefit for the long time members, the Betts family. All proceeds will go to help offset some heavy financial burdens that come with the battle of cancer. Donations can be made at Motolympics.

I have a friend at church who has been riding for quite sometime and would like guest pit with RUTS this weekend at ViewFinders. Troy and His family are members of our Church ie. Lutheran Church of the Cross-Aliso Viejo...Their children go to Aliso Viejo Christian School with our Son.

This year in our men's Saturday ministry I've identified two families who ride and hear there are others who have kids go to our christian school but may whorship at other churches.

Could I give Troy a contact {Roger?} and would you and the others take this family [under your wings so to speak]and make them feel welcome?

Troy placed 2nd at the Invaders...He is a humble guy and told me not to get excited because there were only a few riders...regardless, he's a good guy and I am sorry I will not be in town to help with the pits.

Blessings to you all!

Taken fromt eh D37 Message Board...

I got to drive it this weekend. Wow.... it's in better shape than Camp Rock. There's still 2 sections, about 20' long each at the top of the hill where it's scraped to the rooftops of hell, but that was nothing to complain about. The entire downhill to soggy is filled with sand and smooth as butter. The last nasty dip right before the bathroom is still there. Once you cross the dry lake, it's the same old Bessimer. They graded a nice 2-lane highway next to the Hilltoppers bomb, too. It wont last forever. I give it six months, but any races staging there for the next couple months will really benefit.

..They graded the road for the making of a movie. It will be a NICE ride into Motolympics this year!!

God had his hand on the doctor, because he found a couple of problems, that he was able to repair while he was in there. Judy is doing as good as can be expected. The doc said everything is were it needs to be, and expected to be better than new. With the lord's help, she will be back in the desert befor we know it. She wanted me to say thank you for the support and prayers. Hopefully she will come home on saturday.

Hey everyone...please pray for Matthew. He crashed at Milestone MX on Sunday. He broke his leg and fractured his hand. They immediately took him to Loma Linda and he went in for surgery on his leg. Now three days later he is finally happily resting at home. His pain pretty low, but since the bone came through the leg our biggest prayer is that there will be no infection. He will miss the first week of school and will start off his year in a wheelchair. :( I think he is most bummed that he will not be able to do his first desert race this month.

I'd like to request prayer for Quint Betts and his family.
I just spoke with him and he shared with me that he just learned that he has Stage IV Cancer in his neck. He will be starting Chemotherapy treatments. Thankfully, the cancer has not spread to his lymph nodes yet, so please-everyone pray for healing, and more importantly God's will in this situation. Quint, his wife, Yolie, and their children have been RUTSters and supporters of RUTS for many years. Quint recently graduated from Seminary at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa the Friday evening before our Meltdown event. We know that God is not done with him yet and we have faith that the LORD will use this situation to his glory.
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:11-13

I was approached by some of the meltdown racers late Sunday and was asked if they could buy the video they seen Saturday night. They were amazed on how fast and great it turned out. I told them Scotty was the genius that put it together and makes movies in Hollywood. (Just joking on the Hollywood part) I had to work Saturday night and did not see it and can’t wait. So Scotty how do you do?

Thank Vince.

Hello, I was wondering if someone might be able to answer a question for me here. I may be moving to the Phoenix area and I am wondering if RUTS Arizona is still together? I click the RUTS Arizona link on your home page and page cannot be displayed. I used to ride with some Rovers (BC) in California and did a couple of your races out at Lucern and would very much like to get hooked up with some believing riders out there. Please let me know if there is anyone out there I might be able to contact.

Thank you very much

I just wanted to take a moment to publicly thank Roger and Judy for all that they do to support the racers in the club. They have been at countless desert races to provide great pit support. What they do is truly a ministry that touches the lives of many people that they may not even realize.

Someone from Badgers has put a message on the D37 message board that they are looking for their trophy, and are having a hard time contacting anyone in RUTS. I talked to Judy Butterworth today, and she thinks that Eddie Walker might have them. I tried Eddie's number, but it seemed to be disconnected. Is there anyone who knows for sure who has the trophies, and can contact that person to tell them to get a hold of Arnie from Badgers?

There are some individuals that are saying that we left the Buttes area a bit messy. Apparerently some "No Camping" signs and also some stakes may have been left on the course.

Are there any local RUTS members willing and or able to give the Buttes a drive through?

Are there any RUTS members willing to ride the course in the next few weeks to see if ther is anything OBVIOUS that we left behind?

If so, please post here so some others may join you if possible.

The general RULE should ALWAYS be to take out a bit more then you came in with.

Each person should be responsible for his / her area....
Camp, Home check, BBQ, course, etc...Since the "no camping" signs are nto really Anybodys responsibility, its quite possible that they DIDNT get all taken down.

Anybody up for a ride in the enxt week or so?

I just want to say thank you to the club for giving me an opportunity to share the gospel with our guests at Meltodown. I also want to say THANK YOU for all of the prayer support!!! I have never felt the Holy Spirit so supporting a message that I have given. The prayer support that I could feel was almost overwelming when I got up to speak. THANK YOU and PRAISE TO THE KING!! Also, I want to thank each of you who shared words of encouragement with me after the message. And now we all need to get some rest and pray for those who heard the message that the Savior will water the seed that was planted!! Again, thank you for your support!!

I need to know what we are going to be doing at the meltdown. First I was told that we are doing a check with the Kleins and Ellis's on course A, and then we got a call saying otherwise. If I got this right my dad and Stacia will be with the Kleins and Ellis's and I will be helping Jeff Butterworth man an area were potential course cutting may occur. Correct???

1) The newsletter should be on the website. If you didnt get it, please download and read it.
2) We need merchandise donations for the raffle on Sat night. Please ask your local bike shop if they have any hard to sell items that theya re willing to part with. We will mention there donation at the BBQ and would also give them a tax write off letter for there donation.
3) We need some folding tables and ice chests for the BBQ. please put your name on them witha permanent marker and drop them off at the stage if your able to.
4) Meeting is at 830 at sign ups on Friday night. Meltdown Tee Shirts will be given out to all RUTS members in attendance who are working the race for the weekend. The remainder fo the shirts will be sold, so be at the meeting to get yours!
5) We need some cooks for the BBQ. Just show up at 5pm with a servants heart.
6)Wear your RUTS stuff this weekend. Jerseys, Tee-Shirts, Hats, Beanies, whatever. Lets make a big showing this weekend.
7) Art Whitney has NEW die cut stickers for your trucks and trailers. I think they are only $2 whiole supplies last.
8) Art (or Julie?) has 18 of the NEW jerseys left for sale. They will likely go byu the end of the weekend, so if you missed the pre-prder, you have one more chance this weekend. $50 gets you one. They are cool!
9) Coffee and doughnuts at Sunday morning Chaple service. Bring your chairs to the stage area at 7am. David Alabran will follow up on his Saturday night message with a great start to the Sunday activities. We will have some worship songs to start us off right! Hope to see you there, if your not gearing up for the race activities!
We will start PROMPTLY @ 7AM.
First race starts at 8am.

Thats it for now.
Pray for the hearts of the lost to be softened to David's Saturday night message.
