Hi Randy, On the Dove Springs OHV web site it says a green sticker is required, but on the information in the RUTS newsletter it says spark arrestor and green/red sticker required. We are bringing a guest with a red sticker so I want to make sure he doesn't have a bad experience. Hopefully it is green sticker only during a certain time of year, please clarify. Thanks Don

Fellow RUTS’ers we now have a new message board to use and we just want to invite members to become members and enjoy.

You will need to sign on and become a member. It has several forums for you to post so your message does not get buried.

If you need any help signing on or working the different items such as creating an avatar or putting in photos or movies feel free to email me. Ktm200@volcano.net

At this point everyone can view the message board but only members can post or reply, and you become a member by clicking the register link at the top left corner of the site where it says (log in) Register), it takes about 30 sec to register.

We will keep it pretty loose on who registers at this time but if we have too much foul content posted we will require that all new registers be looked at before they can log on. We also have the right to delete or ban a member if the content is not up to RUTS North status. Please come on and register and join in our message board.

Date Posted: 00:37:39 01/02/10 Sat

Julie,

I wanted to ask that RUTS members add me to their prayer list. In August the wound from the surgeries I had developed MRSA (my second bout). On December 18, 2009, my small intestine perforated and ruptured through the skin to form a fistula. The surgeon had a pick line implanted and put me on TPN intravenous feedings. This is being done at home, thanks be to God. The wound center at the hospital finally got an ostomy appliance fitted and working yesterday so I don't have to keep changing dressings from the drainage.

This will be a long haul, but I feel God has me protected and I feel blessed. Monica is taking good care of me so I am at peace. I am mailing my D37 renewal and my RUTS dues this weekend. I ask that the club allow my renewal, but with not making a ride or meeting this year I understand completely if they can't.

With God's help I will recover and hopefully make it out to California, maybe in the fall. I ask for God's blessings on all my RUTS family and all of the D37 members/family in the new year. My thanks for allowing me to be a member of RUTS this year.

God be with you all,
Bill Barnard (Florida 426 on the D-37 messageboard)

(Bill lives in Florida and had planned on attending RUTS Meltdown and some of our other events in 2009. Unfortunately, due to numerous health issues, it didn't happen. He requests our prayers.)

The trailer dimensions are approximately 5' x 7', I'll have to take a more recent measurement to be precise as I cannot hold much in memory. I can easily carry 4 motorcycles in the trailer; 3 in front and 1 across the back. I've also carried a quad and a few bikes. The trailer has a guard rail around the perimeter except at the rear; there is no gate, just open in the back. It has stock Ford wheels like those found on a Ranger. The floor is complete with expanded metal. It has current registration. I can email you a picture if you like. The price is $400.00 OBO. I'm selling it for Fred and I think he's OK with that price. He's a pretty easy-going guy.

RUTS was asked to layout the fast loop for the fun ride. Several of us put together a short, fast loop. We ribboned it Saturday, but it could use a few arrows.

Are there any RUTS going up Friday that can put up a few arrows and fill in some ribbon?

Also, is there a family planning to camp out both days that can act as a representative of RUTS by flying the flag, checking the loop, offering info on becoming a member, etc.

Please call me if you can help in any way: (760) 221-0187

Survey results are in and looks like a statistical tie!
Thanks for participating and for the kind words. George Green made the suggestion that we rotate each year which seems really reasonable.
Thanks to Scotty B for putting up the survey.
THIS year we'll camp at Fremont, I think Scotty will be there on 30th and mark in and pick a good spot next to one of the dry (hopefully) lake beds. The 1-2 miles to 2nd dry lake is now wiiiiide but there is 1/4-1/2 mile of whoops in there. We will scout for alternates or maybe Roger can borrow a grader and we'll do some highway maintenance :-). I noticed yesterday as we happened to pass by in a hurry to get to Barstow before dark that the first dry lake had several groups around, but the second, oddly, had one lone trailer. Not a toyhauler. We will need to scout the area and see if it has become really trashed or something..
Look for more info in Dec Newsletter.

I have a young missionary friend who is in the states for a season...then its back to the UK, where he and his young wife make videos that post on Christian websites in Muslim Countries. He is here in Orange County and having a hard time with his motorcyle. He needs some mechanic work. Can anybody help?

from an email that he wrote to me.
.....It's making a loud ticking sound, more like a buzzing (like a bicycle chain) sound at higher rpms, and also it loses a lot of power at higher rpms. I took it to a mechanic, and they wanted $600+ just for labor. They said it sounded like either valve timing or something with the cam chain. I've taken the engine apart down to the cam chain, but have found no obvious problems, so next would be to take off the head, which I'm not looking forward to.

It's a 1985 Honda cb650sc Nighthawk

....anybody that can help my young friend with parts, labor or advice...please let me know.

If anybody would like to join us, we'd love to have at least one more person who feels up to the challenge. Riding the weekend of November 13 north of Teagle wash and below Charlie's place. If interested, let me know. Will have RUTS signs out on the road to camp. Doing an epic ride on Saturday to Jawbone store and back. Should be fun.
Great time at Motolympics, thank you Scott for a great event and cause. Hope Sunny heals up quickly.

We would like to thank all of you for your prayers and support. We were truly blessed at Motolympics. Through this trial (Quint's cancer) the Lord has provided ALL that we needed. The Lord also blessed Bo & Quint with a gold medal. May the Lord get ALL the glory!

What a Great Weekend! For those who didn't make it, you really missed out. The weather was perfect and the events as always were a big success.
A big Thank You goes out to the Burnett family for all the hard work that goes into putting on a two day club ride.

Just got done talking to Sonny. He's doing well. He got out of surgery at 4 pm today, he will be going to therapy on Wednesday. Overall, his spirits are high and he sounds good.

While riding today at Soggy Dry Lake, Sonny went down hard. We just heard from Roger that he has two broken ribs and a broken femur at the ball. He is being moved to Kaiser Downey for further treatment. Please pray for Sonny and Janet. It was such blessing to have so many trained people at his side while he waited for transport to the hospital. At one point, they asked him what his pain level was and he said zero. GOD his so good.
