I have a 2000 Suzuki JR50 for sale. We are the original owners and it is in great shape. It is a great first bike. Unlike the PW50's it has a rear foot brake and only the front brake has a lever on the handlebars like bigger bikes. It also has a shifter on the left foot side for neutral or in gear. Therefore it has a regular kickstand and not a centerstand like the PW50 which is always in gear and has no neutral. I'm asking $500
Green Sticker through 2015. Contact me for more info and pictures. Fred - 714-322-8791

Treasure Hunt is over and now to focus on Meltdown. We need to complete the assignment list. If you worked somewhere last year and are willing to help out again, reply to this post and we will add you to the list of willing workers for God's work in the desert. To make this a success like in previous years, support of all Rutsters is necessary. Come out and be blessed. (and bless others)

Charles Spurgeon writes.."The path of the Christian is not always bright with sunshine; he has his seasons of darkness and of storm. True, it is written in God's Word, "Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace;" and it is a great truth, that religion is calculated to give a man happiness below as well as bliss above; but experience tells us that if the course of the just be "As the shining light that shineth more and more unto the perfect day," yet sometimes that light is eclipsed. At certain periods clouds cover the believer's sun, and he walks in darkness and sees no light. There are many who have rejoiced in the presence of God for a season; they have basked in the sunshine in the earlier stages of their Christian career; they have walked along the "green pastures" by the side of the "still waters," but suddenly they find the glorious sky is clouded; instead of the Land of Goshen they have to tread the sandy desert; in the place of sweet waters, they find troubled streams, bitter to their taste, and they say, "Surely, if I were a child of God, this would not happen." Oh! say not so, thou who art walking in darkness. The best of God's saints must drink the wormwood; the dearest of his children must bear the cross. No Christian has enjoyed perpetual prosperity; no believer can always keep his harp from the willows. Perhaps the Lord allotted you at first a smooth and unclouded path, because you were weak and timid. He tempered the wind to the shorn lamb, but now that you are stronger in the spiritual life, you must enter upon the riper and rougher experience of God's full-grown children. We need winds and tempests to exercise our faith, to tear off the rotten bough of self-dependence, and to root us more firmly in Christ. The day of evil reveals to us the value of our glorious hope."

We are looking to buy box trailer to hold about 4 or 5 bikes and a quad. I'm thinking that means it has to be about 14 to 18 foot long. It needs to have the side entry door in addition to the ramp door at the back. It would also be nice if there were a couple beds that fold out from the walls and a cabinet in the front for storage. If you have any recommendations on a good brand or know anybody who is selling one please let me know.
thanks,
~tom

Thanksgiving Club Ride
The Burnett’s will host this years Thanksgiving Club Ride at South Anderson Dry lake. Come join us after your family dinner. We will be setting up camp on THURSDAY NIGHT ….probably fairly late. If your arrive earlier, please MARK in your location, so we don’t have two camps on Friday morning. Fly a flag, mark on a pie plate or print you up some RUTS ARROWS on card stock! We don’t have anything special planned, so come out for a low key, relaxing weekend of riding.

Our preferred camp area if you arrive before we do is

Subject: Bailey Believes - 2nd Annual Ride For A Cure - Nov 9th, 2013

Date Posted: 16:27:43 09/13/13 Fri

All welcome to our Ride For A Cure! For info, to register, or to donate go to www.cystinosisresearch.org/donate-for-bailey. We are expecting a huge turnout this year!

About Bailey DeDio
Bailey was diagnosed with a rare disease called Cystinosis on Friday August 13th 1999 at 18 months of age. The doctors told me that Bailey would not live until 10 years old. I will never forget that day for the rest of my life. Bailey is 15 years old now and from the outside no one knows he is suffering from a life threatening disease. Bailey takes 75 pills per day to keep him alive, eye drops every hour to keep him from going blind and 2 shots per night. We fly to Stanford, CA to get his RP-103 medication which helps rid his body of the Cystine crystals that will eventually shut down all his vital organs. We fly to Bethesda, MD for doctors’ visits and to get his eye drops which help rid his eyes of the painful Cystine crystals, which if left untreated will cause blindness. Bailey has a lot of other health issues caused by Cystinosis, like high blood pressure, high triglycerides, high cholesterol, his pancreas doesn't work properly and now he is in stage four kidney failure and is in critical need of a kidney transplant.
I had always planned on donating my kidney to my son. Earlier this summer, I was told I could not give my kidney to Bailey because my anatomy did not line up properly and the surgery would be too risky for Bailey. Because my husband has a history of kidney stones, he cannot be a donor either. Bailey’s kidneys are now only functioning at 15% and we are in desperate need to find a donor otherwise he will have to live on a dialysis machine. Right now because of his health, Bailey spends half of his day sleeping and is now on home school studies.
Bailey loves to ride dirt bikes, work on bikes, and loves just about anything with a motor on it. He loves collecting junk, having yard sales and making his own money. At 15 years old, he bought his first car with his own money. He is bright, very witty and funny. Bailey is truly a miracle and I am truly honored to be his mother.
With your support and donations you are helping make Bailey's and other children with Cystinosis dream for a cure come true. Words cannot explain how THANKFUL we are for your LOVE and GENEROSITY.

Here's to a cure, health, love and happiness,

Love Always, always believe

Jessica, Jay, Bailey, Ryder and Chris

I'm collecting used helmets to be shipped in a container with other supplies for the Haitians. There is a real need. I guess they have a lot of mc taxis. They drive real crazy and go splat, "there is blood and brains all over the roads". The drivers want them and can't get them, even buy them over there. I'm hoping we can bless with our used stuff. I'll come by and pick it up or do what ever if it helps. The mission also need a dirtbike type mc because of the rough roads. It doesn't even need lights they can get anything registered over there. Let me know what you can donate or if you have any questions. Here is a link to the ministry.
http://crosstolight.com/haiti/containers/index.htm
I have a more up to date material needs list.

"The Lord is not slack concerning [His] promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9
Thanks your help can really save lives in more ways than one.
God bless,

Hi RUTS family,
I'm writing this to ask for prayer. My good friend Kenny died yesterday while riding his Harley to work. He was 32 years old and left behind his pregnant wife Paige, who is due to give birth to their first baby this week. Please be praying for Paige and their soon-to-be-born son Liam. Kenny was a strong Christian and I know he is in heaven with our father.
A fund was set up to support Paige and the baby financially during this time. Please consider contributing and thank you all for your prayers.

Pray for Mark and his family.

Here is the latest news. Mark is in a coma. His head injury was severe. His brain twisted in his skull. Paul said he looks like he got in a bad fight, besides that he looks like Mark. The doctors do not know if he will come out of the coma. So now it is just a waiting game. It is up to Mark to fight, and for us to keep praying. I will post another update sometime tomorrow as soon as we hear from the hospital. Thank You again from the whole family for all your love and support.

What a great weekend. Where to begin!??
Welcome to the Holmes family, who joined us for their first RUTS ride. We had some highlights....one of which involved an experimental rocket launch. Chubakka (who was just going along for the ride) apparently through the balance off and the rocket took a side turn and headed straight for Tom, Lil, Janet, Sonny, Randy and Donna. Had it not been for Lil's dive move, she might have had a rocket bruise on her legs. It was scary for just a minute, and then quite hilarious.
The kids treasure hunt ride had about 20 riders. We spit into two groups after Dove Springs, and both groups had a good 20 mile loop. My little ones, Jadyn and Zack, rode the 20 miles on their YAMAHA 50's and did really wells despite some short sandy sections that gave them more than a little grief. Once through it, it was forgotten and a fun time was had by both of them.
The "Randy's Fun Loop" 42 miles) ride saw 14 riders start the ride and 15 riders finish. We picked up Dillon, a young and foolish rider who was not only riding without a tool bag, but he was by himself and broken down, more than 10 miles from camp. After Jean-Luke fixed his bike, he joined our group and kept up well....riding right up front with the faster guys. The loop we rode hasn't changed in 4 years and I hope it never does. It is one of my favorite loops of the whole year. What a blast. We did it in about 3.5 hours this year. Chad, who joined us on his 125, was challenged on "Big Sandy" the very long and steep sand hill about 1/4 of the way into the ride. After just learning how to ride that bike the previous day, he surprised more than just me, by making it up the hill on his second attempt. WOW.

Our campfire devotions, Chinese lanterns, experimental Korean rockets, noisy neighbors and "the HUGE pit" that randy dig for the kids all added up to create a wonderful weekend in the desert.

Hope to see you all soon!
ScottyB

Subject: Roll Call Jackrabbits

Author:
David Eberhardt
[ Edit | View ]

Date Posted: 16:44:40 12/26/12 Wed

Jackrabbits is coming up soon on 1/13/2013. The Eberhardts (David & family and Warren & family)will be out pitting and BBQ'ing lunch on that Sunday. Although, we won't be camping, so if someone could pick out a spot on pit row on Saturday, that would be really great. There will also be a racer's meeting immediately after the race. This year's race is a 37 mile desert scramble. For those who aren't sure, in a scramble the same loop is run twice unless you decide to run red numbers and only do one loop. This is a bit of a change, as Jackrabbits have traditionally done a Hare 'n Hound. I personally want to encourage as many RUTS members as possible to come out and race and have a good time. The dirt should be wet, the air cool, and the course fun. And we'll be out to make sure that everyone is gassed up and ready for two loops of fun, and fed afterwards. For those who have been thinking about getting back into racing, this is the one for you. Not too hard, and not too easy. Just right. I might just do it myself if not enough people come out to race. That being said, I'd love to see at least 15 RUTS members or more, so that I'm so busy that I don't get to race. So who's coming? If I need to, I'll start calling people out personally on this message board:)

Looking for a 3xl race jersey. Not sure who has them but I would like to score one for the Jackrabbits race. 2XL just doesn't cut it over other winter riding clothes.
Oh yeah how much, may buy two.
Thanks, Seabee-ken

I just wanted to say thanks to the Burnett family and all the volunteers that put Motolympics together and made it happen. What a fun event!
I was wondering if anyone got any nails in their tires? I picked up one, but luckily it just went diagonally through a knobby. Whew! Thank you Lord! :)

My Hats off to Dave Klein and Wayne Ellis they did 120 miles Yesterday and from what they said it was a tough course, they raced from 0930 to about 1430,awesome job both of you and please stop coming into the pits at the same time although that was funny,Travis re injured his shoulder and will be back in the saddle soon, the weather was perfect and god gave us a good day,we did have to help the four aces with some radio como at the end of the day, they had three racers and two broke down on the course and no radio so the invaders and us helped out.Dave and Wayne please give a race report on your day.

About Bailey DeDio
Bailey was diagnosed with Cystinosis Disease on Friday August 13th 1999; the doctors told me that Bailey would not live until 10 years old. I will never forget that day for the rest of my life. Bailey is 14 years old and from the outside no-one would know he is suffering from a life threatening disease called Cystinosis. Bailey takes 75 pills per day to keep him alive, eye drops every hour and Growth Hormone shot every night. We fly to Stanford, CA to get his RP-103 medication which helps rids his body of Cystine Crystals that will eventually shut down all his vital organs. We fly to Bethesda, MD for doctors’ visits and to get his eye drops which help rid his eyes of the painful Cystine Crystals, which if left untreated will cause blindness. Bailey has a lot of other health issues, like high blood pressure, high triglycerides, high cholesterol, his pancreas doesn't work properly and his kidney function is less than 40%, according to his nephrologist Bailey is going to need a transplant sometime in 2013.Bailey loves to ride dirt bikes, bikes, to eat steak and be with his friends.

Love Always,

Jessica, Jay, Bailey, Ryder and Chris

WOW!!! what can I say. What a beautiful day to be in the derert yesterday. 1st I just wanted to say thanks to those of you that came out to help in the pits, Scott Bolen who supplied the hot dog and cold waters for all and Jack Fuller who help pump gas THANKS GUYS!!!. We had 6 riders, 4 RUTSER and 2 guest piter. Sam Fuller got 8th over all and finished 3 in his class way to go Sam. Dave and Warren Eerhardt finished real strong and looked good comming in the pits Warren had a slight lead on his brother David. We tried to help ya out David but our little scam didn't work once again sorry Warren. Art I give 110 persent for comming out in 90 degree weather and giving it a shot way to go L35, it was cool hanging out with ya Saturday night. As for our to guest pitters it was there 1st desert race and both of them finished. Both of them pie plate novice and the smiles on there faces at the finish will be something ill remember for some time. It was a true blessing to be able to serve as pit captin for such a outstanding club as RUTS and once again to be the light in the desert. THANKS and God bless

So we have the details all worked out. This year the Classic Scrambles and AMA West Coast Grand Prix Series race WILL BE USING TRANSPONDERS!!!

They are the same transponders you use for the GP races so you will NOT need to purchase anything to run this race. If you do not have a transponder already, we will work out a loaner for you.

PLEASE bring your transponders to signups just like you do for the GP races. We need to input you with your transponder into the computer.

Results will be posted SATURDAY AFTER THE RACE!!! No more waiting a few weeks for the results.

Also this will be a LIVE ENGINE hands on the bars ready to race start!

We are very excited to be able to bring you instant results for this race so we hope you are excited about it too. Full riders instructions will be posted early next week.

Thank you and I hope to see you all out there!

Looking forward to riding season and fellowship with all the RUTS folks.
Bought a dual sport and thinking of doing the D37 B to V in November. Last did this in 1974... yes I am old but still sorta fast. (at least in my own mind)
Anyway, let me know if you are doing a dual sport event as I might join.

Wondering if anyone has a used PW50 that has been outgrown? Looking for a starter bike for my 8 yr old daughter (and then my 4 yr old son). Will be out in the desert on the Sept. 28th so locating one soon would be great.

Ideally I would like one that needs some TLC that won't be worth top dollar.

Thanks,
Frank

Thank you Jack, John and Julie (the only names I remember)and the others for letting me guest pit with your club saturday at the Rovers race. Sorry you all had to wait around for me to finish the second loop. Quads hardly ever get to do a second loop and we start almost an hour after the first line gets the banner drop. Anyway, thanks for the support and hope to see you guys next race. Jim
