Hi everyone,
Yesterday at Kennedy Meadows Brian fell and injured his leg. He has injured/damaged his peroneal nerve which has caused him to lose feeling in the front of his leg and he is unable to flex his foot up. This causes foot drop and so walking is tough (has to lift from the hip). They kept him at the hospital and he is having an MRI this morning. Please pray for healing to this nerve bundle.
Thanks for your prayers.

I was wondering how many RUTS members will be racing the team night race and will need pit support that night. The event is at Cougar Buttes and we will camp on pit row Saturday 19th at noon. I need a head count on racers and pit supporters.

Thanks

Beach Play Day, a State Parks and Cal-PAL co-hosted annual event, provides an opportunity for PAL (Police Activities League) kids to go to the beach, some for the very first time, and enjoy a day filled with fun in the sun in a safe and supervised environment. PAL members from communities throughout the state are selected to attend Beach Play Day for a variety of reasons. For example, some PAL members have stayed in school and out of trouble all year in order to attend this special event.

The OHMVR, in conjunction with Cal-PALs, sets up an ATV exhibit and creates a sandy beach course. Children ages 12 and over will be able to enjoy the experience of riding size-appropriate ATVs on the course, while Off-Road PALs coordinators from seven State Vehicular Recreation Areas, as well as instructors from the ATV Safety Institute, are on hand to assist youth with this activity. This is the seventh year Off-Road PALs has participated in Beach Play Day.

For questions about the event, contact Supervising Ranger Kelly R. Claar of the OHMVR Division at (916) 324-1669 or, you would like to volunteer, contact Superintendent Kathy Dolinar at (760) 767-5391.

Note there be a (few) District #37 clubs there to.

I know it's kinda late, but is anyone going out trail riding this weekend? My riding partner (dad) is up in Kennedy Meadows but work kept me from going. So I'm sitting here bored and want to ride. I'm up for anywhere with anyone as long as you are on a bike. If you have no plans, I'm thinking Jawbone Canyon and can even pick you up if you live near Santa Clarita. Come on here, I'm desperate to ride!!!!

In late August I'm planning to ride/camp/motel from So Cal to Seattle for our family vacation. (They are flying up.) I plan to take 3-4 days and tour the Sierras/Cascades and some of the coast Highway. The agenda will be VERY loose flexible and geared toward the most interesting roads. The route will use as little Interstate as possible/practical :). I would like to include some visits with RUTS members along the way. If you've got a street bike or a big dual sport you can hang some bags on I'd love some company for some or all of the ride. You can make it a one way trip and fly back for $79. Call, email or see me at Kennedy Meadows for more info.

As of today (sat. July 5) there are no motorcycle trails closed due to fires in the Kennedy Meadows area. Weather is perfect, streams are cold, fish are biting, 9Mile Grade is still steep. Bring firewood and a down comforter for the chilly evenings. I will have campfire permits with me if you would like to have your own fire or operate a lantern or cookstove outside but bring a shovel and water pail because fire restrictions are strict! I should be up there Thursday afternoon listening to the wind in the pine trees and studying the trail maps. If anyone in the High Desert area is coming to Kennedy Meadows can you pick up the Club First Aid kit from the Butterworths? Otherwise we'll have to ride with undue caution.

Scotty Hinricks, a RUTS member, had a hard week with his cancer treatment. There was a time that Scotty was expected to go be with the Lord, however Gods grace, mercy and miracle healing power carried him through. He is in his 2nd year of stage 4 cancer treatment and his family is praying for a miracle. Through the 2 years, God has given them much hope and sustained them, now they need us to shower them in our prayers. Scotty is goign through experimental testing through clinical trials at a very good cancer hospital (I forgot the name).
Scottys parents, Susan and Roy, could use prayer themselves as they are going through a parents worst nightmare right now.
Scotty is 20 and came to know the Lord just before his was diagnosed 2 years ago. I have had many conversations with Scotty and I have NEVER met anybody at any age that is more on fire for the word of God. Scotty studies his "sword" for daily and unless GOd needs him up there sooner, he would like to become a missionary someday.

Please pray for him and his family!

Scott talked to Richard Pace this afternoon, they were at Loma Linda. Brad dislocated his hip, but the doctors were able to pop it back in and he was expected to be discharged 9 p.m. or so.

Will be on crutches for a bit, nothing seriously damaged, praise the Lord for a great weekend.

Bill Getzlaff 7th place 66th OA
Brian Hall 4th place 68th OA
Jared Getzlaff 4th place 99th OA (not bad after a 20min pit)
Peter Graves 8th place 124th OA
Michael Mills 3rd place 126th OA
We had several guest pitters and prospective members but I'm so bad with names. I only remember the Klien families.
Cody Klien 1st place 108th OA
Paul Klien 1st place 123rd OA
I counted 59 DNF's no of which were RUTS members.

ATTENTION ALL RUTSTERS,
This is the most important meeting of the year. You are not allowed to get sick, your car will not break down, you will not endo your bike, you can call into work and get it off, cancel your kids sports. This meeting is the one meeting a year that you need to come to if you do not go to any others. All the important decisions and course assignments WILL BE MADE. If you do not yet have a job at the race yet... get one. Call Scott Burnett or e-mail him and just say "here I am, What can I do?" Scott can help you find a job to do. God is always faithful and God always puts on the best race of the year in D-37. So come on out and help God do this and get blessed. Call or e-mail all your fellow RUTSTERS and remind them to be at Fuddruckers on Monday May 5th (cinco de mayo) we will celebrate and organize the best ministry in the Dez. See you there!!!!
Rocky

1. We race on a marked course, not knowing what is in front of us. Give example when you needed to trust God.

2. We compete mostly for fun at speeds that can hurt us. When have you depended on God to keep you safe?

3. The courses are sometimes very long and challenging requiring physical and mental conditioning. How do you prepare yourself for attacks from Satan?

4. As we race, sometimes we follow the dust of other riders and we follow them off course. Give an example of how you may have drifted away and found your way back.

5.We do this for points and a trophy. What are some rewards that are personal to you from God?

Hope to see everybody out there!
God Bless, Dan & Caprice Zierau

I have been a member for 2 to 3 years now and I’m not on the rider profile page.
But I know of a lot of newer and older members that are not on the page as well.
I would like to see all the regular D37 racers me include get their rider profile on.
So who is up to the task I’m in? Is anyone else like the fastest kid in the club Brad Pace?
Or one of the fastest seniors like Kevin Roach, or one of the fastest magnums James Miller or Bill Getzlaff. I know I forgot some of the fast racers in the club but no profile to check on. Sorry if I put anyone on the spot you know I love you guys.

Introducing Madison Riley Burnett. She arrived 7:30pm last night, March 18th at 21 inches and 9lbs 3 oz.
At the end of the delivery, Cari had to have an emergency C-cection due to the baby’s falling heart rate. What a circus our room became with at least 8 staff attending frantically to wheel her into the operating room ….without dad. Not fun. Cari did a super job, despite the absent coach. She is resting now and we had lots of visiting family last night. The doctors have done well managing her pain, which seemed to be above the norm for a c-cection delivery. She is doing well this morning.
Our plan is to rest and introduce Jadyn and Zack to their new little sister later today or tomorrow. Thank you all for your prayers, txt messages and voice mails. We are blessed beyond comprehension with friends and feel so lucky to have each and every one of you to share our joy with.
We might go home tomorrow??
The Burnett 5 wishes you a Blessed Easter!
Scott, Cari, Jadyn, Zack and Maddie

Expect a baby announcement with pics to follow soon. If timing of our last two little ones was any indication, then we should be sending some more news by dinner time!
