Posted today on the D-37 message board by Dan Barnett, a member of HBMC who just returned from Kennedy Meadows.

Kennedy Meadows report:

Jackass, Albanita, the first part of Rattlesnake up to the Beach Trail turn-off, Granite-Broder, Mahogany, connector trail for Troy and Fish Creek and the connector trail from Rattlesnake to Bonita Meadows are open.

Bonita Meadows loop, Blackrock Mountain, Little Horse, Monache jeep road and the Kern River Camping areas are all closed due to damage and fallen trees.

I spoke with one of the rangers and they cleared over 750 fallen trees just on the open trails. They're continuing to clear trees so call the Blackrock Ranger Station for current conditions. 559-539-2607 ext. 276.

It was a great time this past weekend and Monday afternoon we got about a three hour thunderstorn that rained, hailed, and dropped the temperature from about 75 down to 49 degrees at 2 p.m.
