Hey Everyone,

Crab Flats campground is sold out for this weekend. There are 4-6 walk up spots available, but they are first come, first served. You don't want to drive your motorhome or trailer 4.5 miles down that dirt road to find out they are full.

The host of Crab Flats Campground told me if you go just a little farther down the road past his campground, there's a flat meadow that has some trees in it that can be used for camping or staging. He says no Adventure Pass is required to park there.

I checked it out. It's about 1/4 of a mile wide. You'll see Redonda Ridge Trail on your right, 2N31Y trail on your right and left (it's a loop for novices), and the 3N34 sign on your left where the road continues. Park anywhere in there.

Unfortunately, motorhomes and trailers shouldn't go down there because the road is too steep on the way back up. But it's fine for pickups or vehicles pulling little trailers with bikes on them.

You can stay there with a tent and use a propane tank to cook, but no campfires. Bathrooms are up at the Crab Flats Campground.

Meeting time is 9 a.m. Saturday at the Meadows for the dirt bike ride. Of course, you can go on the ride any time, but Sonny Harris will be at The Meadows from around 8:30-9:30 a.m. with ride maps.

I will have a print out of the ride map in a couple of days and email it to everyone. Please print several copies of it and bring them with you, in case someone shows up later that doesn't have one.

When you're finished riding, come on over to the cabin for lunch. I'll be there all day.

Let me know if you have questions.
