Hi Andrew,

Thanks for showing up. Sonny went to the staging area in case anyone needed maps and had forgotten to print them off the website. He didn't see any RUTS members, so I guessed he missed you.

Were the people you joined up with from RUTS? Were the kids intermediate riders? If not, then they sure did have a challenge, like you said.

I have ridden this whole course except for the steep downhill White Mountain part of it that starts from 3N16. People who know my riding ability can't believe I have ridden Redonda Ridge (1W17 that starts from the staging area), but it had rained the night before and the trail was nice and loamy. I had no problem at all going up the steep hills. I have ridden Devil's Hole creek crossing several times, and it's challenging to get my bike through the boulders and across the creek. Same with Dishpan Springs (3N34) back up to the staging area. Those step-ups aren't the easiest thing for me.

You have to admit, though, that it was good practice for the kids--right? I'm sure it made them better riders. Now you know why I suggested Int/Exp only. It's hard to believe it only takes teenager Sam Fuller 45 minutes to do that whole route!

Again, thanks for coming. I wish you would have mentioned you were going to be there. However, it looks like things worked out.
