Tonight we had the missionaries for dinner, along with a sister in our branch whose husband is in Peru for 2 weeks. Elder B is going home tomorrow. He is such a great elder, and we will miss him. We had steak, shrimp, garlic bread, salad, pasta, and chocolate cake. The missionaries were in heaven. It is so fun to feed them a special dinner, so gratifying. ;-)

With our calling as YSA leaders, we get to spend a lot of time with the elders. It is great. I love the spirit they bring into our home, and they are so sweet and sinicere and studious and humble and enthusiastic. It is refreshing.

I've been teaching Institute on Tuesdays, and they come to that (we have 2 investigators coming) and we host FHE at our house on Sunday evenings and they come to that too, because of our 2 investigators. So, we really will miss Elder B.

Joe and I wanted to get him "Bod Man" cologne (as a gag gift) for his trip home, for all the ladies. He is so sweet and shy, not the kind of guy to "play" the ladies, so it would be really funny. But we didn't. It probably would have embarassed him too much.

Joe is up in our chilly attic talking on the phone. I think he likes the cool air, because I keep the heater on 73 (just right for sitting around the house, not for working).

I babysat a cute 16 mo old ALL DAY today. It was exhausting, she cried 80% of the time, but did take an hour nap. I was appreciative of Ruby though, who mostly let me hold the baby girl and left us alone--instead of joining in the howling and clinging. I think she'll be okay with #2.

Elisa, don't you love tulips? I have a question for you, if you know how to care for tulips. My tulips (about 3 blubs in a 3.5 in pot, very croweded) are loosing their petals now--do I cut the stem way back, or just let the plants turn yellow and die, and then re-plant them in the frozen ground (I'm sure it will be cold enough for another 6 weeks at least), or stick them in the freezer, or what do you think?

Did you ever read the essay about tulips in "The Botany of Desire" by Michael Pollan? (I think that's his name). It is very interesting. The whole book is interesting and entertaining.

My hydrangea is also way crowded in the small pot, and I should probably transplant it. I was thinking it would be fun to put both plants (tulips and hydrangea) in a barrel on the porch, but the hydrangea can't take the cold right now and has to stay inside. The colors are so pretty together, pinkish red and bluish purple.

The flowers make me feel so happy. I love them. I've realized the I am more likely to plant flowers instead of vegtables. Joe is more likely to plant vegetables. So he can do the veggies, and I'll do the flowers. ;-)

That is my newsy chatty update. I know it isn't thrilling, but I thought maybe if I posted, then you guys would post.

So, tag. You're it.
