Well, in general this is hard to translate 'cause the biggest hint that he's made the switch is the pronoun he uses for "I". When he's the hitokiri battousai he uses "ore" which is a fairly rough and rude version of "I" while when he's polite Kenshin, he uses "sessha" which is archaic and very polite.

Not really. If you are very careful in translation of his polite dialog (and make it somewhat archaic sounding) like I suggested in another post then making him sound less polite and more modern when he's the battousai would probably convey the correct meaning across. Some things will still be lost just because of the differences between English and Japanese, but it would catch the gist of it quite a bit better, I think. Whoever translated Kenshin just did a pretty poor job of conveying the language subtleties. ^_^;;;
