Former NBA great Dennis Johnson dropped dead of a heart attack at age 52 while coaching the minor league Austin Toros. Barry Stevens, 43, who ranks just ahead of Fred Hoiberg on Iowa State's all-time scoring list, died last week while exercising in Gary, Ind. Denver Broncos running back Damien Nash, 24, collapsed and died Saturday after a charity basketball game in St. Louis. There is a reason the Timberwolves travel with an automated external defibrillator. They pack it on the road, keep it in the passenger cabin on their charter flights and have it courtside at all games, home and away, and all practices. "Of everything you can try to do in those situations [cardiac arrest], that's the one that works best," Wolves physical therapist Andre Deloya said.
