"Half of it was left out," Kidd said of his response to a question during All-Star Weekend. "(The question was) 'Growing up in the Bay Area, what was your favorite team?' It was the Lakers. And what did I dream about being? Magic Johnson. So if you listen to the tape recorder, half of (the reply) was left out. So that quote, it wasn't to fuel the speculation. They asked me what was my favorite team was."
