OK, but who is the arbiter of whether the "blessing" has been given? Is it up to the one claiming the blessing? Just do a google search on Babaji to see how many now claim to have his direct, unmediated blessing to be teachers/initiators of Kriya. There is also an individual who runs a 'cyberashram' on the internet who claims to be a direct disciple of Lahiri and empowered to bestow initiation.
