You have not supported your claims with any evidence, you simply repeated your statement that they are true.

"Your comment on my previous post seeks to discredit my testimony by arbitrarily refocuses on someting tangential to the point made."

No it does not. I simply asked you to produce something to support your claims (other than anonymous and unknown contacts).

I realise that things said on these messageboards are sometimes misinterpreted, so I would like to make it clear that I have appreciated many of your posts, and I respect you as a long standing kriyaban and follower of Paramahansa Yogananda.

It seems to me that for several years some people have been trying to discredit SRF on the internet. This varies from sites which are openly Ananda propaganda, such as the Yogananda Rediscovered website to which you refered, while others such as the Yogananda-dif website seem to be by those with a grudge to bear.

It seems to me that many of the claims being made at such sites are simply being repeated on the internet as if they were facts, without any attempts being made to verify the truth or otherwise of the statements. A good example is the claim that the signature of P. Yogananda with the third letter A present in Param-A-hansa is a forgery. This claim is often repeated as if it were a fact, but the evidence for such a claim is virtually non-existent.

One of the purposes of this board is to establish the real facts independently of any bias. It is not here simply to promote one particular viewpoint.

On the question of alterations to P.Y's writings by SRF I want to get at the facts not simply repeat urban legends and misinformation which appears on the internet.

Obviously many of P.Y's works have required editing. Some were unfinished at the time of his passing, others were in rough drafts etc. He had appointed Tara Mata as his editor and had presumably expected her to make whatever editorial changes she deemed necessary after his passing.

The issue is not whether his works have been edited, but whether such editing has been faithful to his instructions, or whether the meanings of his writings have been altered significantly. On this issue I have to wonder why SRF editors would wish to alter his works. Whatever one may think of SRF's leadership, the fact remains that they are all disciples of P. Yogananda who have dedicated their lives to serving him, some for 70 years or more. The idea that they would deliberately alter the teachings of their guru seems a rather unlikely one to me.

If significant changes have been made it should be possible to show what those changes are and to show that those changes were made by later editors rather than by Yogananda himself.
