Ketch- you say "A good example is the claim that the signature of P. Yogananda with the third letter A present in Param-A-hansa is a forgery. This claim is often repeated as if it were a fact, but the evidence for such a claim is virtually non-existent."

SRF themselves, in a preface to their re-publishing of the 1949 edition of Whispers from Eternity, says:

"In order to provide our readers with an authentic reproduction of this early edition of Whispers, no correction has been made in the text in the spelling of the Guru's title from Paramhansa to Paramahansa, since the spelling without the middle a was in use during the years this edition was in circulation."

The last sentence is significant: "since the spelling without the middle a was in use during the years this edition was in circulation."

This particular edition was in circulation from 1949 until after Yogananda's passing in 1952. That means that the insertion of the 'a', by SRF's own admission, did not occur until 1952, after Yogananda's passing.

That's why there is no known signature, by Yogananda, with the extra 'a', except for the questionable one that began appearing sometime in the late 1950's in the later editions of Autobiography of a Yogi.

I don't care deeply about the fact that SRF changed the signature after Yogananda's passing. I bring it up because you use this particular episode to try and discredit what Thomas, correctly I believe, pointed out about all the revisions SRF has made to Yogananda's writings.
