Some of us believe the Walrus site to be an Ananda propaganda initiative designed to discredit SRF. I would check any claims made there with other sources.

I believe that Anil Nerode wrote here that he did not remove his site because of any legal threats from SRF, but for other reasons (people quoting parts out of context all over the internet - and because it caused offense to some).

As regards Hidden Valley I have never been there and cannot give any opinion.

I do not believe that it is necessary for the average devotee to get involved in the politics if that is spiritually unhelpful.
