Startled by the interruption, Tori swung her heavy head around to face the dark stallion. Feathered hooves planted firmly in the ground before the prostrate Genesis, taking a defensive stance before her surviving foal. No offense was intended, nor did Tori believe that the stallion had designs to steal her baby, but mother's instincts are seldom rational, especially when combined with the grief of losing another.

Twin peaks flashed forward at the mention of Paradise Isle, drooping marginally when the realization hit that she only had Elven to tie her to the royal island. A single mother -- but hadn't she been just that all along? Shaking away the impudent, distressing thoughts, Tori recovered her manners, answering the stallion in honeyed, if mildly hoarse, tones.

"Hello Demando. I am Notorious Reputation, better known as Tori, and this is my youngest, Genesis."

Her voice caught as a surge of grief threatened to drown her. Cool control, so finely honed through the years, barely cracked as she introduced Gen. It would do no good to introduce Oriden even though she knew she would mourn and remember the bay colt to the end of her days. Refocusing her concentration, she forced herself to make small talk, good breeding and good manners covering her grief.

"What news from Paradise Isle? My oldest is still there."
