We were working out at the farm last week and in what had been a chicken pen, we found the ground covered in tomato plants with tomatoes about the size of large eggs. I mowed all around them thinking that if the place doesn't sell quickly I may have tomatoes to add to my Thanksgiving table.

When I moved the pot plants to the new place, I moved some miniature bell peppers that still had fruit. Since peppers are tender periennials, I cut them back severly and now I've got some beautiful plants blooming again. I'm seriously thinking of trying to keep them through the winter. I know I'll have to move them in and out a lot, but even miniature peppers would be good this winter... I'm going to miss having the fruit trees and vegetable plants. We've got to do some major moving dirt around and building retaining walls before we can worry about planting veggies.
