Who's politicizing SS? Having a difference of opinion on a fix isn't "politicizing" it. It's called dialogue. This country is still not a dictatorship, so democrats aren't going to roll over and allow Bush to do everything he wants w/out opposition.

As for not liking regulations... I'm sorry, but you have to have regulations to keep businesses from polluting water and air. You have to regulate wages... you have to regulate job site safety.

I disagree with your belief that government should get out of the business of education, too. I stated on another post why. Our government HAS to make sure that its citizens get a basic education and can become a productive member of society and its economy. To "leave it up to the individual" without checks and balances would only ensure that we'd have more young people with no drive or ambition to do something with their life. We have enough of that already.

Our dependence on fossil fuels only remains the cheapest option because oil company lobbyists continue to line the pockets of our elected officials. I believe water's more plentiful, and the techonology to run our vehicles on hydrogen-based fuels and/or water aren't far away. What will big oil do then?
