Well, actually they just said that you have to have entered either NUDA or SUDA - you can no longer enter just IVDA.

However, this should cut out of the last-minute entries just before IVDA, making the competition shorter anyway.


What we really need is a disincentive for rubbish teams to enter. Perhaps charging more for people who enter both Dancesport and Offbeat? We need something that doesn't prejudice against people who take Offbeat seriously, and cuts out the teams that are just prolonging the agony?

How about two divisions of Offbeat competition, with a 1:15 routine in the lower competition and a 3:30 routine in the upper one. People making the routine up the week beforehand could then just enter the lower competition, and not take up much tome. We might even have the top 4 from SUDA/NUDA rule as an entry requirement to the upper division.

Or have a 1-minute qualification round, with the top 6 getting a full-length final.
