Yes I would. Any objections? :-)

yes, we'd continue to run the website. I don't quite understand your question about the separate section. I think we'd keep the website as it is, but either link to a separate website of our own for details of IVDC or add the details of IVDC there.

It was a rough figure based mainly on Ali's figures from IVDC in Stoke in 2002. I might have misunderstood, but my interpretation of his figures was that they spent around 200 pounds but were undercharged by mistake by around 90 pounds. I'll check the prices the Kings Hall quoted me for food though.
We also to plan to give the officials a bottle of wine or something, so that would be included in there (I suppose it should probably go under gifts).
But yes, it's quite likely we'll end up spending a bit less than that anyway.

Well, this would be flexible depending who we get, but I believe 80 pounds is the standard fee and it's what we pay at the Sheffield Social (we do give them a bottle of wine too - see above). I've already contacted a few top judges and they seemed to be quite happy with £80, but we're perfectly willing to pay more if necessary.

Well £21 is a kind of stupid figure :-)
I believe it was £20 2 years ago. Adding an extra pound gives you £20 extra, which is really nothing on the scale of things. Increasing the entry fee is a way to increase revenue without really impacting the societies, admittedly, but I like nice round numbers rather than spiky ones :-)

Well we have projected very low attendance figures (just in case) but assuming that we get higher numbers than projected we'd use this as travel grants (as explained in the bid). In the unlikely event that we do get low figures, there is currently a figure of several thousand pounds in the IVDA bank account I believe. I also believe that IVDA is really only supposed to have a contingency of around £1000, so we could easily spend some of that money. We are absolutely in favour of travel grants for unis that have to come a long way and small unis new to IVDA.
We would much prefer to keep the entry fee in line with other comps (currently all around £8 except for Manchester which is more low budget). And although it's only an extra pound, I can assure you it makes a big difference to some competitors. We had to subsidise our team's entry to IVDC this year because many people weren't prepared to pay £9.50 to enter. Added to the cost of the coach, certainly our members start refusing to come if they have to pay more than £15 in total. I know it sounds silly but that's our experience. Our aim is basically to try to keep costs for competitors down as much as possible.
