  • Question for those more experienced. At a recent feis the musician was waaaay off time & many dancers were having false starts, ending off time etc. These are dancers that never have this kind of problem. Aren't judges supposed to monitor music at stages? -- :o(), 10:00:43 11/16/09 Mon
It was obvious to even us moms that this musician was terribly off time. I have no idea if he was sick or what. Is it permissible for a dancer to stop and say something to the judge? If a dancer does this will they be disqualified? Is there a protocol for this type of thing? It's too bad that the judges don't do what they are supposed to and it's left up to the kids. Any help will be appreciated.

  • Do you think many people will be shopping for a new solo at Oireachtas? I had planned to bring my dd's dress to sell but don't know if it is worth the effort and expense. Any thoughts? -- On the fence, 09:55:01 11/18/09 Wed

  • WTB: Helen Doyle bags -- Colleen, 03:51:07 11/19/09 Thu
My dd is in need of a dance bag, and for traveling, it is obvious that the Helen Doyle bags are the best. I'm hoping someone has a used one they would like to sell. Please contact me privately if you are in this situation.

  • Can y'all help me in figuring out costs, please? Trying to figure out all of the additional costs for the O hotel. -- Thanks!, 03:50:47 11/18/09 Wed
Trying to decide whether to rent a car or not. Flying into Love Field, early flight out on Monday morning.

We are 4 people (including one under-2 baby).
Rental car should be approx $100-$125.

What is parking fee at hotel?

Does SuperShuttle charge for the baby?

Taxi is $25...would that be for all 4 of us or are there additional charges for more than one pax?

If it's not raining, is the grocery store walkable (ie, sidewalks and not just highway)? And is the weather decent or is it a cold place?

    Thank you!

Hey all! Totally shameless plug! Your Oireachtas is right around the corner and I'm sure everyone has some music to practice to, but why not get some more! A friendly reminder that our CD, "Music for Irish Dancing", is available on iTunes, Amazon, CDBaby, and other digital outlets. It can also be purchased from Fay's Shoes, Head for the World, and us directly. If there are any teachers or other vendors that are looking for wholesale prices, please contact us directly at the email above. Good Luck to everyone competing and have a great time making new friends and catching up with old ones! You can also find us on Facebook under Music for Irish Dancing (what else?) and give us some ideas for what we can put on our next CD. All the best!
