First of all, I doubt most teachers could afford to strike, and our radical leadership paints an unfair picture of most teachers, all of whom are also taxpayers, and many of whom are homeowners. When Tommy T. was "governor" many groups of state and local employees were creating revenue problems-policemen, firemen, teachers, civil engineers, etc. I will be the first to say that ALL these groups should receive fair pay; however, when it came time to tighten the purse strings, teachers were singled out as the group to be QEO'd. To my knowledge, no other major groups of state/local employees have had this imposed. If the state is going to impose revenue caps, then put them on across the board-perhaps the burden on each group would be lesser.
