Okay, it's my understanding that the QEO caps teacher salaries at a certain level. But, wasn't this put in place to keep property taxes from raging out of control? Listen, as a homeowner, I already had to absorb a 100% increase in my tax bill this year (this is no exageration, and sadly that is only slightly more than typical of my area), and that's WITH the QEO and revenue caps in place! I understand there are fixed costs, and I also think it's not fair that teachers have a cap on their incomes and yet the bereaucrats down at GEF don't; you're all state employees after all. But, I would like very much to hear the educator perspective on what would take it's place to manage the tax situation, because I'll tell you what, in Madison and vicinity, an area dominated by liberal school boards, if those restrictions were lifted, they would almost certain raise the tax levy and THEN enrollment would decline because nobody could afford to live here!
