Yes it is goot to ponder. and yes, everyone of us is in da proverbial boat by ourselfs. cuz thats just the nature of traveling on the path you ponder'n about. Unless you got a dog, he's yer best buddy so's he may be in da boat wit ye. :)

And yes, people usually know us better'n we know ourselfs, cuz they is look'n at our actions more'n just what we say. Maybe they don't vocalize it often, but inside they nose us pretty goot better'n us ourselfs.

It is goot to go back and see yer people. Not neccesarily because they is famly, but cuz the land on which we's born is a revitalizing force. And it is goot to know yer language.
My parents use to tell us when we was young'uns, that our parents are the only real relatives we'll ever have. And it seems to be true.

One never knows everything there is to know about our heritage, one is always a werk in progress. Its goot to hang out with other tribes and talk, but it's best to know yer own peoples' ways first, cuz thats yer foundation. and you know what a goot foundation can do for future learning.

This is a puzzling statement, " I don't understand how people who want to learn can't just come right out and say this is totally different from my Christian rearing and i don't understand...... instead they fear what I try and help with and they believe I am other than I am."

what I don't understand is: are you asking this question or did someone else ask you this based on what you say you're trying to help them with???

In my experience in Re to ndn ways, I try to follow a thought that an old guy said once in ceremony, and that is, " we as ndns are not the type that trys to convert others to our ways,.... if someone is meant to be here(ceremony), then somehow they will be here."

If one trys to convert people to a way of thinking that you think is goot for them, then of course people are going to rebel...cuz nobody wants to be thought of as lost.
That is a Christian thought process in Re to non christians, from my experience anyway, and that smacks of religion. as far as i know, ndns aren't religious. :)

well sounds like yer doin sum thinkn there ol hump. its goot to do that every once in awhile.
There are ways to ponder those issues of life, either by yourself or with members of yer family.

nobody is an expert, we all need to bounce things off others we trust and whose opinions we value. because they are our mirrors, they reflect whom we are and vice versa. And because, they won't try to bs us, cuZ they would wantta help us unnerstand.

as i mentioned in a earlier post, the fireplace is a goot teacher. and tahwodih said cherokees dance close to the fire only if they earn the right. so maybe you know bout that since you're cherokee/sim ... like i said, nuthing can replace a goot foundation.
