Subject: Driver's license exams [shudder]
In reply to: Bella 's message, "Re: Well, I should have known" on Wed, 01/29/03 3:00pm

I don't even want to THINK about taking a driver's test ever again!

My dad took me for my first try at it when I was 16, during rush hour in Los Angeles. What was he thinking? Of course I failed it. I think the license examiner got a little peeved when I nearly killed us both by pulling right in front of an oncoming car.

I passed it on my next try, but I've been paranoid about it ever since.

And Bella--I have heard that so many people fail the exams in Britain that the examiners will no longer tell you if you pass or fail. They mail it to you because too many examiners have been assaulted by drivers who just failed the exam. Hah! The thought crossed my mind all those years ago when the examiner was yelling at me....
