I'm sorry you are going thru this, I still cosleep with Valeria after her first waking fromt he crib, it just makes it easier on me. She is a loosey sleeper, but it has been getting better. I have to rock her to sleep, well more of a dance we have and it takes a while most of the time. I don't bf anymore and fortunatly she wasn't a confort eater from the begining. Maybe you can gather some energy and try to make corben not eat at one of his bf at night, like rocking him, comofrting him, etc. maybe try to push back just a bit his schedchule, like after 2 hours, try to make it to 2:20 hrs, etc. I did that when she ate every 3hrs, and thought it was time for her to eat every 4, so I made a change slowly.
About them being secure, I truly believe that from dr. Sears, Valeria is secure, but she needs me most of the time, she likes to know I'm around whens he si playing and ofcourse she likes to be carried. Maybe he is just not ready to let you go, and maybe he want's to make up for the time he doesn't see's you.
I would go baby steps with him, since I consider myslef an AP mom, it can be hard, but every baby is different, have you tried the ap board on bc? it's great it gives comfort and some advice on how to work thru this tough times, you should go and take a look, you would see that not every ap kid is great or horrible, as in any kind of upbringing, it's just about doing what feels good to you. I have nothing against any other kind of methods, it's just that I don't feel good doing them, so I just stick to what my heart tells me, and after all that, it's been paying, she is getting better.
As for the napping, I know it's not the greatest advice, but have you tried the car? when Valeria is absolutley miserable, and I just can't deal with her whinning, and I know she si tired, I cave in, and she will get her schedchule back.
Valeria was a late sleeper too, and still is, 9ish kind of girl, but I found that letting her sleep is better, but not to close to her bedtime, I did this 3 nights since she was soooooo tired from the holidays and she was sleeping at 6:00 and waking at 7:30 then until 11ish, so yesterday I said no to her 6 nap, took her on the car at 4 and "made" her sleep, and she went to bed at 8:30 wich is nice, today she ios happier.
Sorry to ramble, I know how hard it can be, I suggest the ap board, and if you want to just talk or vent, send me an email.
