Hi ladies! I finally got a chance to poke in here, but not really read much. Just wanted to say hello. I've had trouble finding the time to get online, and a terrible time connecting if I do find the time. My modem is out on my laptop. I love the Christmas season (tree's up, house is decorated as much as it will be, most presents are bought (but not wrapped)), but it is so crazy, especially with both boys having Dec bdays too. In twelve days, I have two bdays, with Christmas in between. In a period of 15 days this year, I will have 2 bday parties at my house, neither on the actual day, special treatment for actual bdays, Christmas at my mom's a few days beforehand, Christmas with boys at home, and later Christmas at mil's! So don't be surprised if you don't see me back here much until January or so. I popped into BC and was shocked at how slow it was.

I spent $17.00 on a toy and a jacket and then the s/h came to $7.04, the box to ship it $3.25 and $1.25 packaging labor $1.25!!! Yikes! I didnt realize it was going to cost that much. That was using us mail ground 4th class - the cheapest I could get it! Then if you add the wrapping paper, b-day card, and bows my gift probably came to around $36.00 bucks!! Whew! I think it was worth it though for the fun of it but it sure costs alot to buy something and ship it out of state!
Just had to share!! This x-mas is turning into an expensive one with having to buy a new stove and everything else!
Thank god for credit!!! and tax returns to pay off the credit card!!!

I am so excited about Jacob's birthday party this Sunday! We went to the store this morning and bought the last of the party supplies. The party is from 1-3p and there's about 12 people coming (the rest didn't rsvp, how rude!) I'm serving: lil smokies w/bbq sauce, chips and dip, carrots and celery sticks w/ranch, chex mix, chili dip w/ tortilla chips, grapes and cake and ice cream, of course. Do you think that sounds like a nice spread or should I have more?

First, I was planning on mingling with the guests, then having a little play time for Jacob and the other two children, and then opening presents, and then cake and ice cream. Is this pretty much what you guys are doing? I don't have any games planned seeing as how it's only 2 hours. I can't wait!!! :-D

3 yo was bouncing the u/s like mad & ds was laughing up a storm (LOVIN IT!) when it happened ... I knew it would ... u/s bounced too close to Corben, who fell & hit his lip/gum on it. First time he's bled =(

He was fine, though no more steps that night! He wouldn't take anymore since then; he seemed scared, but we KNEW he could do it! Actually, he has taken a couple tentative steps tonight at home, so maybe we're on the way!!

Even though my Ped said to wait untill 1 year to switch her I have decided to give her 1/2 formula to 1/2 whole milk all this month and then somewhere near before or after her birthday I will just give her whole milk (depends on when the formula powder runs out!). I just started doing this Sunday Dec 1st and since then she has been drinking alot more per day. She was just drinking about 8-12 oz and now she's drinking about 16-20 oz! I think she likes it! She also has decided today that she no longer wants any help holding her sippy cups. She wants to do it all by herself! Its so funny to watch her trying to walk and drink out of sippy at the same time because she has to tip her head back to drink and then she's trying to walk at the same time and she runs into stuff! Just had to share that things are going good with it!

Hi, today the girls in my class told me that they would do a little birthday party for Valeria, since they are the ones making it, one said I'll bring the cake, etc. etc, I said i would bring the things, but they pushed me away, I'm not sure what they'll do, or bring, since they said they would organice everything ( I think not in front of me ), so my question is, what should I give as "party favors", since our kids are small, Valeria is the oldest there, candy is out of the question right? crayolas? they are too small, so what do you think I should give that isn't expensive but likes nice and full!
Hehehe I'm a cheap girlĄ
Please any ideas will be appreciated

it went well and he is gaining about 45gms a week which they said was fine for someone his age :0)

They also said that looking at DH it is obvious that he is going to be long and lean. (he weighed in at 8.45KG) and that he had grown 2cm in 1 month!!! no wonder them clothes all didnt fit anymore!!

They also said that it is fine for us to wean onto whole milk now and the way we are going about it is great!! the only thing we have to work on in making him eat lumpier pureed baby foods not just puree and finger foods...

but apart from that they were very impressed and said he is darlin'

I am so relived!!!

BUT....................

when we got home Dh and I were so busy trying to get organized so we popped jake in his high chair to "keep him safe' as the oven was on etc etc etc ...

anyway he was playing in the chair in the same room as us and we hear thump thump thump WWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! to turn around and find jake sprawled face down on the floor?????

the tray had unlatched itself and jake came tumbling out :( I am so mad that I didnt use the straps - he just never looked like he could fall from in there - HOW STUPID AM I.....

Jake is fine and I think I cried more than he did not even a bruise mind you!!

anyway it was enough to have Dh vow to help me out more so we arent as stressed and unorganized!!

Do I qualify for worst mummy of the week now or something???

But I just had to share this with people I know will care. This is totally amazing! He had 50 ml of formula before bed (usually 250ml)and slept for 12 blissful hours without a peep! Can everyone keep their fingers crossed for me?

OK Jacob's godfather (who also happens to be mine - so like we have known him forever) has just told me that if a close friend of mine is going to be at Jacobs party then he, his new girlfriend and her son wont be attending.

This all stems from his new girlfriends son having an arguement with my friends son at school (they are like 7yrs old BTW) and then the mums both having cross words becasue of this.

I am furious that I have been put in a position that I have to chose one or the other so I told our godfather not to bother coming at all if that is the way he was going to treat us both, seeing as he was the one who issued the ultimatum.

Did I overreact??? I absolutely hate it when you get dragged into others arguents dont you??

I thought you mentioned once that Christmas was different in Australia? But I am curious how that can be; if Christmas is considered Jesus's birthday, which is celebrated December 25, how can it be different there?

Maybe I read wrong, maybe you meant Halloween or s/t else? I just found out that Canadian Thanksgiving is earlier than USA's, which I never knew!

Please enlighten me, as I find it fascinating! I also find it amazing that it's currently summer for you!! Want our snow & cold, Donna?!

Today we went to the annual works childresn christmas party at Adams work. I took myself off in a little gorgette top that was so flimsy yadda yadda yadda but seeing as thou it was going to be 32C I thought I would remain nice and cool.

Well I did but in my hast to get Jacob and Adam drenched in sunscreen I totally forgot about myself and now am sufferin MAJOR sunburn... when I said to DH thanks for reminding me he goes and get this "I thought you had us all covered????" He is whiney, cranky, clingy. He won't eat anything, or take his bottle. I feel so bad for him. And i doubt that he'll want to eat his first thanksgiving dinner :( Thanks for letting me whine. I was scared I called back, told him and said to watch carefully for any signs, to not let her sleep more than usual, so I did that, she slept for 15 min hahahah that's 15 less than normal. Thank god it seems she didn't have anything bc she is a crazy little girl, and a cranky one, no sleep today. Hi everyone. I noticed yesterday or the day before that the area around the base of Avery's right thumb nail was kind of red and swollen - but i just assumed she pinched it somewhere or something and it would just go away but today its much more red and swollen and it has yellowish/orangish puss leaking out of it - like I've had myself when ive gotten an ingrown fingernail - but hers just looks more yucky. So i called the Ped's office and they have to have a nurse call me back and of course its been a few hours already and they havent called back yet.
But has this happened to anyone else and should I be concerned? I just dont want to let it get to bad and not do anything about it and with the long holiday weekend coming.... Any help/advice would be great!
Thanks,
Chris

will you have access to a computer?

if so, whose?

will you beg them mercilessly to let you use it so you can check the board?

will you be lost without ZF?!

Thanks for answering =)

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

how old is ds/dd?

what positions do you use?

what is ds/dd favorite?

if you try new ones, how are they accepted?

*****************

Corben is 11 months old & we pretty much only lie down now to nurse. I noticed recently that he doesn't seem to like any other positions anymore & I wondered if I caused this by always lying w/him!

Thanks for responding,
Terri

I still LOVE BC, but you know what? This & the PO boards are so cool, with their HTML, putting new replies first, BBC (smilies), & photo siggies =) I LOVE 'EM!!

Such cool formatting, had to share, esp since I can't share on BC, LOL!

Supposedly, my son sleeps like the dead. He's slept through babies crying, construction outside his window, loud thunderstorms, etc.

Why, oh why, does he ALWAYS wake up when I open his door?

Here's my dilema. It's getting cold here now and I'm worried he won't be warm enough at night. When I put him down for the night, he likes to play for a while before going to sleep and he ALWAYS falls asleep on TOP of his blanket. So last night, thinking he sleeps so soundly, we decided to go in and put a blanket on him to be sure he was warm.

He woke up.

He screamed.

For 2 hours.

Good GOD. He wanted me to hold him the whole time - he was happy when he was out of the crib, but every time we put him back - hysterics. I couldn't get him to sleep with me in my bed, he just wanted to play.

So here's my question - how do I make sure he's warm enough without having to go in his room and thereby waking him up? Do you think a blanket sleeper is enough? His hands always feel so cold to me in the mornings.

Any advice would be appreciated!!!! I'm so tired, I took today off work lol

I bought, for the first time, 6 peppers from Meijer today (2 each red/yellow/orange). Like I always do at Kroger, I put them in a bag together & knotted it closed (no twist ties available). Go to checkout after I finish shopping.

I finally noticed the checkout girl weighing the peppers separately by color, so I ask if that's for inventory. She says yes. I ask if she has another plastic bag considering she just ripped mine open. She didn't answer & put them all in a big Meijer plastic bag.

That really pissed me off. When I called DF, he agreed I should have gone to the manager. I wanted to, but felt like it was such a stupid thing to get worked up about, but I'm still annoyed! Won't shop there for peppers again, I'll tell you that! They were only $.10 cheaper than Kroger, sheesh!

Be honest! Thanks.

I am participating in BC's Birthday Buddy Gift Exchange & was curious:

w/the $20 limit, including S&H, would you include the cost of the card & wrapping paper, if you had to buy them or is that just being cheap?

Since I *know* it's being cheap, can I just point out that I am currently behind on my car payments? (I'm stupid, I know!)
