Where do I start?

I woke up at 5.30am with water EVERYWHERE! 'Sam', I say, 'I think I have wet myself'. 20 minutes later I am in excruciating pain. This is not supposed to happen yet, it's supposed to be hours before this part happens. Sam called the Birth Centre and told them the situation and how much pain I was in. Are you ready for what the midwife says? She says 'this girl has no idea for she's in for if she thinks that is pain'! OMG. I was in labor and I knew it, it's just that no one else believed me, which is very frustrating when your about to have a baby.

We arrived at the hospital at about 9.30am becasue they told us to come in as I 'thought' I was in labor. They wanted to re-assure me that I wasn't so I could go back home. Yeah right. So this crazy so called mid wife hooks me up to this machine when all I wanted to do was lie down and die. She kept saying things like 'calm down, the pain isn't that bad yet'. I swear, if had of had a gun at the time she surely would have recieved a bullet in the foot! That would have been all I could have managed. So she finally lets me have my room to myself and my sister and mum are running around doing a million things while I'm in the shower wondering how to commit suicide without moving. All of a sudden I get this over bearing urge to push push push. Then I feel this strange thing that surely isn't meant to be between my legs. I somehow manage to communicate to the insane midwife that there is something down there which feels like the side of my hand. She gets a glove, and by the time she has a look it's gone. 5 minutes later it's back again and my sister decides I need to be out of the shower and as she is dragging me out she see's Orli's blue foot! Ok, now my mum is screaming at the midwife and I'm positive I'm dying. This emergency bell goes and then there's 10 people in the room trying to get me onto a trolley. The woman in the room next to me was crying because she was scared for me. Very sweet I thought. Ok, I knew I was going to be okay but I still didn't want to go through what I knew was a head of me, a breech birth. So after being wheeled NAKED into the emergency dept I have to have a catheter to drain my bladder, then I am lucky enough to recieve the episiotomy to end all episiotomies! But after all that I get to see the monkey himself! Only for a second though because he got taken to intensive care :( Thank god he was ok.

So there you have it, my horror story :)
Somehow it was all worth it though :)
