Terri,

We have a Chevy Malibu, which is a mid size car, but Pete is 6'3" so when he drives, his seat is all the way back, making putting Megan behind the driver's seat or even in the middle impossible. She has always been behind the passenger seat, and will stay there. I can (kind of) reach her that way when I am driving. I sometimes think the middle would be safer, and I might do it in a different car if recommended. But she would be squished in the Malibu.

Hope this helps. I don't know if either side is safer than the other. I agree with Chris, to contact the fire department, they are always nice when I ask them car seat questions. =)

Amy
