Subject: FTLOSM LIVE TOUR - were you there?????

I thought this might be a fun topic.

If you attended a FTLOSM LIVE show lets talk about it, what city, and what were your favorite moments of the show.

For me it was the Chicago Show, the amp blew out in the first 5 seconds of the show and things came to a screeching halt! For a moment I thought man I hope this show isn't cancelled, because all the lights went off right after that, it took about a minute (felt like 5 mins) to get things going again and then they cranked it up and started the show!!!!

I was really entranced by the band, being a former Journey fan and following Steve due to his amazing voice on this solo tour, I really found myself watching the band and as I watched I realized these guys really ROCK! I was especially impressed with the hard driving sound of Linc and Moyes and Paul had this "touch" that just smoothed it out, then of course when Mr. Perry would let that voice out, well excuse the pun but it "was music to my ears"!

This was my first time hearing the FTLOSM band live, I liked the cd and was waiting to hear them play a few of the faster tunes live (listen to your heart in particular), and honestly from the moment I heard the band together live I got goosebumps, I had them most of the night it was the best feeling getting those truly happy goosebumps. Then about mid way thru the set they started in with the jacket drop and that was fun to hear him live singing some of those old Journey tunes too, altho he could sing just about anything and I would be there and I was really digging the direction this new sound and band were taking on their own.

At that time I was pretty broke, had just gotten married and risked losing my job going to that concert (couldn't get the night off, ordered the tickets anyways and called off) I ALMOST did lose that job because of going to the concert too, but a few friends talked to my boss about how I tried reallllly hard to cover my shift and how much it meant to me to go and I had just gotten married so he kinda let me slide with a stern "never again" warning which I kept to faithfully after that night.

I see alot of concerts and have seen Journey a few times too (not with Perry sadly though) and I have never felt the electricity in the room as much as that night, it was honestly electric!!! I felt it in my bones and still to this day I can't believe it was 8 years ago.

The only other live band I have seen that gave me such a rush was a Detroit Blues Man named Larry McCray, he is one of the nicest guys in the world, he is amazing live if you ever want to see some upbeat electric guitar driven blues, I saw him in Chicago and a special guest came up to jam with him (Gary Moore) man Gary & Larry can both JAM on electric blues guitar, that was a night I will NEVER forget.

Anyways that was my story about the Chicago FTLOSM tour, and I bit more cuz I got carried away hehe, my only regret is to not have seen them again before the tour was over but who knew it would be cut short and would not continue in the future (I was thinking I will catch them next cd next year type thing).

If I had it to do over I would have gone for a second and third show for sure, even if I had to take vacation time or bum a few bucks off friends to go hehe.

Bill :)
