Anne,

I am so sorry that you have had to deal with the nightmare that steroids can create. I am a glad you found a plan that helped you cope with the withdrawal side effects...the lasting effects of steroids certaintly can last a while in the body. Something that has me a little worried is messing with your pituitary system...are you seeing a doctor to monitor your hormone levels?? I can certainly appreciate the fact that you are doing whatever you have to in order to get pregnant, but messing up your hormone levels on your own is NOT the way to go. The long term effects of that could be long reaching as well, and I would hate for you to have to deal with that again...once is definitaly bad enough for a lifetime!!

I am on 7 mg of prednisone and 75 mg of a steroid sparing drug called 6-mp (it like chemo). I am also on multiple other meds for asthma/stomach condition/pain. I have a real love/hate relationship with the predniosne and the 6-mp...they have literally saved my life, but they are torture on the body/mind. The only supplement I take is folic acid for the 6-mp side effects (mouth sores). I am VERY wary of naturapath docs, but think its great when someone finds a doc they TRUST! I think that is a much bigger issue then pharmacutical companies...they list the ingredients now in every prescription...its the docs responsability to fully disclose the medications AND side effects. Of course full disclosure actually held me back from starting the 6-mp...everything has a positive and negative I guess...sometimes even prednisone's positives outweigh ALL the wicked stuff that comes with it! *Hard to believe huh?? lol!
