Scott, I ate a sub from Subway about an hour after I got my braces on. Yes, it was very uncomfortable but certainly not unbearable.

Food will almost certainly get stuck in your braces. It's very annoying. However, a couple swishes with water and most of it goes away. A toothpick or something else to pick the food out will get the rest.

You will get used to the food being stuck in your teeth, and possibly the sores that erupt in your mouth. You will get used to flossing under the wires and around the brackets. You will get used to the new brushing techniques you will have to use.

As previously stated, you're worrying too much. I'm one of the most anxious people you will ever meet. I think about things way too much; I get obsessed with almost everything, and even I am willing to tell you that you will get used to things.
