 I have several composite fillings. I've never had an amalgam ("silver") filling, though, and I asked for the compisite fillings when I had my cavities filled.

I'm very happy with them. That silver is very unsightly, so it's good that there are alternatives.

I've read conflicting information about the differences in strength, but I've never had a problem.
