I always wondered how people can consider themselves part of the "silent majority". Do you just assume that if people are silent that they agree with you? If they are silent, how do you know? Maybe they just aren't aware of the situation because they haven't read the newsletter or minutes. I'd be more apt to believe that, since the newsletters aren't distributed anymore.

As for bb goals in the streets, couldn't agree with you more. They should be removed by the city. I suggest that if you see any in the street you should call the city to report it. BB goals in the driveway are another story altogether, and I see nothing wrong with them.

I do wonder what this neighborhood is coming too. I believe there is a medium ground between aesthetically pleasing and a nice place to live. Do we want to force everyone in the neighborhood to hide everything and hibernate to their back yards just so that we can have a pretty neighborhood? Or do you prefer to see people in their front yards, kids playing and laughing as they play ball or ride their bike, and neighbors being neighborly? In other words, do we want to be so strict in what we can/can't do in the neighborhood that it is no longer a nice place to live?

If we do go the direction of aesthetically pleasing, where do we stop? Do we next stop people from parking vehicles in their own drive? Do we force everyone to paint their front doors and shutters all the same color? Do we allow only certain types of stone be used for landscaping? Or only allow certain trees/bushes/flowers to be planted? Do we fine people for not sealing their driveway and sidewalks?

Personally, I want a place that I enjoy living, not a place that I live in fear of getting a letter from the HOA.
