Subject: Well the new ring-n-pinion made it about 100 feet this time

Well I was hoping for some 8.30s - 8.40 but the differential gods wouldn't have it. On my first pass with perfect air and nos pressures. As soon as I launched I had severe wheel hop.I let off than got back on it and than the brand new ring-n- pinion just assembled by Strange engineering decided to disintegrate into a million pieces. This is the 2nd gear set in 5 passes. I think I am going with a mark williams spool this time.. See you all next year.. I will be back with some low 8 second passes. I have trouble busting ring gears in my Wagon on spray...but mine is a 12 bolt & the car is 3800lbs......I've had a Dana 60 housing for years I've been threatening to put in the car,just havent made the switch yet.Luckily 4.56 12 bolt gears are cheap to free...I've had better luck with used gears than new ones.Whats in yours a 9 inch?They usually hold up to HP & Nitrous. Rear gears went from a 457 to a 430 there both strange. but I think i may go with a spool instead of a locker -- Mark Blair, 07:52:36 12/17/12 Mon
