• I'm not sweating it guys. It's not my car nor did I build the motor or transmission. I did however build the chassis and it seems to be working just as expected. Went 1.27 60' and I never touched the suspension since it was setup back in December. Once all the little problems are worked out it will run. Found out last weekend at yellowbullet that the alternator was not working at all and the fuel pump was not working to full potential so once that's fixed I expect it will run much better. • Are you using the balancer off of the "behind the water pump" timing mark 350 with the driver's side timing mark? There are 3 different small block Chevy balancers. (NT) -- Straight Axle 64 Nova, 15:03:27 09/07/13 Sat
• My block is a 69 dated block with the original timing cover and balancer . I'm not sure what a behind the water pump timing mark is, but yes the mark is on the driver side. When I had the engine running before this build I had no problem with timing. Today I started pulling the front of the engine apart, I'm going to recheck my cam timing with the degree wheel. • I just finish degreeing the cam, it came in at 106. My balancer is 10 degrees off, so I made a mark on the timing tab were TDC should be. I haven't restarted the engine yet, but I think my timing will still be high. The initial was 40 minus the adjustment to the balancer marks (10) will equal 30 degrees. I'm still going to have the popping in the exhaust and if I turn the timing back my #5 and #6 header tube will start glowing. Does anyone think my spark plugs could cause a problem. I'm using auto lite racing plug that Dart recommended in there instruction sheet.. My compression is 10.5 : 1 (NT) -- Dan, 01:00:27 09/08/13 Sun

• I know the carb is jetted smaller than stock jets that come in a 750 Holley. I set the air/idle screws at 1 turn on all 4 corners during break in. I know the plug wires are right because I checked them 4 times, I even had someone else check them. If I'm 10 degrees off at the balancer is that the same at the distributor (10 deg)?
