• Here's my take on this situation................ for the most part everybody that had or has a fast/quick car it has a race gas (110+ octane race gas) motor in it.So when somebody has a fast car that runs on 87-89-92-93-94 octane gas station pump gas I/we/you/they are impressed.It's the fact it's cheaper to race or street drive a car that uses this octane level of gasoline.It's one of those old sayings...."anybody can go fast on race gas"...true or not,a pump gas guy can say he's just as fast and doesn't have to spend $8+ a gallon to go just as fast or faster.It's all the bragging rights to racing and cars.Hope that clears that up for you.Not everybody wants a race gas motor,but I will admit when a race gas guy goes fast or cruises the streets they never say I ran a fast ET on race gas.
