As the group met with the Captain, the shadowy man below decks was also meeting with someone. In a dark corner of the hold, he cautiously produced a small, palm-sized crystal sphere from his cloak. Holding it up in front of him, he whispered the comand word, causing it to float up a bit and glow softly.
Almost immediately a menacingly calm voice came through the device, "Report."
"Every one Telmar sent after the shard is Quebec is in the Captain's cabin right now. The sailors have their orders, and are waiting for the signal. All we are waiting for is for the ship to reach the negative energy zone to begin the attack."
"Excellent Orin. I am trusting you to pull this off, as my attentions are focused on Telmar's second group. Do not fail me."
"Do not concern yourself, Dark One. I will not fail. These foolish outlanders don't stand a chance."
"They had better not, or it will be on your head. Report back when you have succeded."
The crystal suddenly dimmed, and fell back into Orin's hand. He put it away and once again began waiting patiently for the time to strike.
