But he knew it wasn't, gaze lifting at the loud sob that echoed from the stairwell. His brow draws up, and he frowns. "What did you do?" he demands, no waiting for an answer before he approaches the stairwell. What lays before him drains all color from him, cobalt eyes widening. "Deangelo! What the fuck did you do!? He's just a kid...and Christophen's kid at that!" he snarls out, moving quickly to the teenager's side, kneeling. He reaches out to gently brush aside the fiery locks, frowning as the teen sobs and jerks away, eyes wide with horror and glassy with pain. Alex growls, turning back to the top of the stairwell. "Deangelo, you asshole! He's mentally handicapped! Whatever he done wasn't his fault!" he scolds, shifting, carefully lifting the broken form and carrying him up the steps.
