First Bush spends $130 billion during the invasion, gets another $60 billion to finish it. He got $70 billion more to rebuild, & now wants $87 billion more.

Bush: More Funds Needed for Iraq Mission

By DEB RIECHMANN, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - President Bush (news - web sites) said Sunday that there
are challenges ahead in the war on terrorism and that more U.S. money will
be needed to sustain U.S. troops in Iraq (news - web sites) and rebuild the
shattered nation. Two congressional sources told The Associated Press he
will ask Congress for $87 billion for the upcoming fiscal year.

Subject: Re: Hey Chumps.....Can You Spare 87 Billion?

Bush says $87 billion. Ok. But when was Bush EVER accurate with ANY
financial forecasts - note the "small and temporary deficits" that he talked
about...

If Bush says $87, you can bet that it will cost much more than that - of
course, as he says: "It is YOUR money". Right on Mr. Bush... you are correct
on this.

===============

Oh, but for some bizarre reason he thinks that the likes of France,
Germany, and Russia will step forward with the cash for rebuilding. And
he's prepared to call them all sorts of nasty things if they don't.

===============

We are led by an idiot. Or, in my case, since I live in Ohio, I'm led by two
idiots.

==============

Comes to about $3600 for every man woman and child in Iraq, anyone know the
actual average income there?

==============

Where do you think we are going to get this $87 billion from? Well, we
are going to borrow it, just like we borrowed the tax cuts, just like
we are borrowing half a trillion to run the country this year. Not to
build schools, roads, bridges or support learning. We're going to
borrow the best part of a trillion dollars next year just to run the
country.

My God, the man actually said on television that we may approach a
$700 billion deficit in 2004, because we need to do the nation
building he claimed he would never do.

I watched the speech in a NY college alumi club filled with classic
Ivy League Republicans, most over 50. Most voted for Bush. When the
figure "87 billion" came up, the whole room gasped, and someone said
"he's a madman."

And he wasn't referring to Saddam, either. Even his snooty Ivy League
affluent base is abandoning him.

45% approval rate right now. Watch it hit 30% before Christmas.
