It's not laziness, at least in my case, as much as confusion. I'm not talking about my writing, necessarily, because I haven't done that much, and some of what I've done already makes me cringe.

I'm talking about confusing fanon with canon. Did Michael have allergies/asthma? Was Nikita actually sexually molested as a child? Was Simone a Valentine Op? Little tidbits like this show up in so much fanon that they must be canon, right? It's very confusing for the newbie fic reader, let alone the newbie fic writer!!
