You are right Rob....Speke was one of the greatest places to be for children in the 50's and 60's. We were close to town and yet we had all the facilties of the country with the woods, the ponds and the shoreline at Oglet. What more could a kid want.....paradise? Now Oglet is home to the "Fly Tippers" and the woods have all gone and the ponds built on or filled in. No more fishing on a Saturday morning with your mates at the "Millies". That, I guess is progress but the cost was a high one to pay with the destruction of the countryside, depriving all the future generations of ever knowing what it was like to live in that environment. Sad........
