[Gee, with no one else around this sorta feels like having a private email conversation in a public place, er.... Odd, anyway]
Cassandra, I have puzzled over that for this whole past year: what is this obstinacy about religion among some of the political left? I mean, there is a huge amount of excellent political activism, around all possible issues, being envisioned and carried out by religious and spiritual people, huge organizations of them, in fact, the grassroots environmental movement these days is increasingly populated by church groups who have come to understand that their God wants them to take care of God's creation......
I flounder. There seems to be a fundamentalism involved with atheism that simply cannot see itself for what it is.
And, I guess, this is my passion, the problem of the modern soul. The vast majority of people are definitely not spiritual seekers, let alone seekers of the type for whom the WD work is appropriate. They are struggling and suffering in a world where the pathways between ordinary human experience and the Divine Source have been twisted, corroded, shunted aside, filled with sludge, and cast out of the conventional wisdom as not even existing. It's a plumbing problem. Needs to be repaired, re-organized, made clean and functional. I intend to find ways to contribute something to that project.
Still mentoring actively, but as for the rest of the WD work, though my heart is still very connected to it, I am basically out of the loop for lack of funds -- my perpetual problem, it seems. But I have a different attitude to it these days. It's okay. My fundamental needs are met. I know what my heart's work is. If that work involves becoming a WD teacher, well, that will have to wait until I manage to find the funds to pay for the necessary training. Meanwhile, I am not going to worry about it, there's plenty to do!
Now. Tell about you.
