Actually, they may have a point. What choice do you have as to whether to work for a taxable wage? The choice the government grants you. The government is deciding for you what sort of work you can and cannot do if you don't want to pay for their sidewalks, trash pickup, and global police efforts.

Of course, some taxation is necessary. Still though, I can see the point of those who - for example - do not use cars but are still forced to pay taxes towards infrastructure so that others can drive cars.

Mandatory income taxation beyond the bare minimum required to support necessary government is wrong at a fundamental level. Taxation for things such as infrastructure should be paid by those who use it. This would make car registration, in our example, very expensive but likely less expensive over the course of the years than figuring the same tax into income taxation.

"They" can muzzle your voice (they do so often), and they can muzzle your body (or try - I am not allowed to kill myself, abortion is an issue, I am not allowed to seek alternative medicine for my child, etc.). "They" often tread all over our understood rights with government issue boots.

You are not free.

Nice day in Pittsburgh - finally - so I'm saddling up and pedaling away - PEACE!

Ah, but RDB, my point is that you can exercise your choice to ride . . . (NT)a person bound in slavery does not have such a choice.15:21:35 04/16/04 Fri
