Itchy, you are a moron.
Read any source you choose, Reuters, Quotron, whatever... and read any columns written by financial experts... It is a fact that a country which consistently operates in the hole has an ever weakening currency. All you have to do is look at the value of the US dollar compared to the GBP during the Clinton Years, and during the Bush Years.. either bush. The value of the US dollar was at it's peak of the last 15 years during the Clinton administration, and this is a direct reflection of what economic analysts have been saying for years.
Coincidentally, the economy was doing remarkably well during the same time as the dollar.
And another thing, what is up with the big government crap?Frankly, I question the rightist logic of all "conservatives" when it comes to the definition of big government. Seems to me that the bigger a government is, the more it spends.... Let's see what we can find on the state of the defecit.. I can't really think of a better indicator for big governmental spenditures..

Hmm.. as you can clearly see, during republican administrations since Nixon our deficit has increased. It was only during the Clinton administration that our country was beginning to pull out of the hole.. only to be plunged right back into it by Junior...
Big Spending = Big government in my book.. Big, unweildly budgets.. Big, unweildly government... I wonder if you "conservatives" really know the definition of conservation.
A favorite argument of you conservatives (AKA: Those with the "logic blinders" on) is that Democrats like to cut the military. Well lets see.. If big investors could no longer rely on big government (defense) contracts to line their pockets.. where do you think they would turn?
Clinton didn't create "The Boom," but he sure as hell lead us all through it remarkably well. During his administration, innovative companies dominated the market, the Deficit was eliminated and for the first time since 1974 we had a Budget SURPLUS, AND the American Dollar had it's best performance in the last 15 years. Lets give credit where it is due, Folks.
