Wholley Shitskies a half decent argument from a lefty! I'll give two answers one short and one long.

Short answer: wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.

Long answer: Anybody who knows their left tit from a monkeys ass knows that a republican and a conservative are two different people. Also the word conservative has nothing to do with the word conservation so I can't really respond to that one unless it was a half witted attempt at bashing Bush's environmental agenda.

Now getting back to current affairs Clinton lowered the deficit. You speak the truth. He did this by enacting drastic unjustifiable cuts in our military and not spending much money on foreign affairs since he didn't do anything about foreign affairs during his 8 year party. The result is that W. inherits a weak military and a variety of escalating military issues. That requires major increases in spending. More spending than if the military had never been cut because the cost to train new troops and produce new equipment on a moments notice as well as call up undertrained reservists is very high.

Also understand that Bush is about as conservative as Janet Jacksons nipple ring. His medical care plan is a democrats wet dream. In fact it's not unfair to make a blanket statement and say that most of what Bush does eonomically is very liberal or at least very centrist.

The big investors who you are talking about are venture capitalists. Venture capitalists are the ones who drove the economy through the roof in the 90s. Venture capitalists would not be investing in defense. The defense industry has no shortage of cash and the whole purpose of venture capitalism is to test new and uncharted opportunities. Anyway the seeds for the tech boom were planted long before that anyhow and there wasn't any president who was going to stop it. Clinton tried with his anti trust litigation against Microsoft but even that failed after leaving quite a pall over the economy in the process. Good job Bill.

Your right lets give credit where it's due. Good old fashioned American capitalism paved the way for a wonderful economic boom and Clinton took credit for it while he ignored huge disasters around the world and even poisoned the waters quite a bit in the process. Man too bad he could only serve 8, maybe he could have put the presidency on hold for a couple more terms and we could all live on in stupid hippy idiot bliss.
